It's important to understand that it was raining during Round 1

The weather obviously kept away the soft core croquet crowd - however - when we said "it was raining" what we really meant was that it was torrential - like it was raining so hard, that if people were to have driven by, they would have said, "look, those silly people are out in the torrential rain playing croquet." But it was raining so hard, that it was actually pretty dangerous out, so no one was stupid enough to have driven by in the first place.
