Ladies and Gents - the 2006 8Stillman Finalists

Aunt Millie was ready to take the tourney north to Vermont for '07

Aunt B and Cookie were in fine form at the start of the match

Uncle Rob was under great stress - this was his year - the last three years have been tough on his overall record

Amanda and Topher review possible strategies of the new course that Uncle Natty set up in a very impromptu fashion

There was high tension on the pitch this fine day

Okay, so let us revisit the tension filled evening - it was a cloudy and humid afternoon. The sun was barely filtering through the cotton gauze sky. The pitch was damp but basically dry and ready for action - Millie, Mike, Liz, Keith, Amanda and Rob entered the fray for the '06 finals. It wouldn't take long for the finalists to make their turn and head for home. Uncle Rob was first - following quickly by Aunt Amanda - two poisons on the pitch and looking to take out some players. Keith would fall victim first, followed by Millie and then Mike. Then there were three - but Aunt B also had time to become poison. So what you have here is a downright, rip 'em up, no-holds barred, cut-throat match to the very finish.............er, yeah..........that's how it looked on paper. What we actually got was........(yawn).......much less exciting........more like a day at the post office, watching the postmaster general clip his toenails. It wasn't pretty to say the least. Take a look at this....
This is the shot NOT heard round the world - not even heard about the yard for that matter. You've got Rob on the left, my beer in the middle for reference and Amanda on the right. Both were poison - AND it's Amanda's turn...................SHE NEVER TAKES THE SHOT!!!!

The crowd grew a little anxious after "the shot."

The crowd was enjoying the final - even Papa was enjoying the fine Anheiser Busch beverages

Ian & Kylie lets the world know who she's rooting for...

First there was the new Junior Champion Award to attend to
The 2006 8 Stillman Junior Champ - Trevor Ewald

This is now an annual event - Trey will give the tourney winner a piggy back ride around the entire course, while singing the star spangled banner and then reciting the alphabet backwards, while standing on one leg

A big hand to all the Jr. challengers - they were all winners in our book

And then there was the awarding of the trophy - From one Griggs to another - Natty hands over the goods

Our 2006 8 Stillman Memorial Champion - Amanda Cordano

Four minutes after the award and the Cordano's were plotting out next years strategy for the Ridgefield Event.
